This article provides the steps on how to install QuickBooks Desktop on a Terminal Server.

Detailed instructions

While QuickBooks Desktop can run on a Terminal Server environment, only QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions is supported in this environment (with limitations). However, Enterprise Solutions support engineers do NOT provide support for the following:

• Setting up, configuring, or enabling terminal services
• Enabling clients to connect to the server
• User permission issues for server connections
• Issues with terminal server connections (for example: connecting to the server or dropping connection)
• Latency or slow performance issues

Terminal Service is a feature of Windows Server Operating Systems. Intuit recommends that customers research more on Terminal Services or consult Windows Server professionals before making changes in this kind of environment.Before performing these steps, close all applications and log on to the terminal server as the admin.

1. Open the command prompt.
   1. On your keyboard, press Windows logo+R. The Run dialog box opens.
   2. Enter "CMD" then click OK. The Command Prompt window opens.
2. Change the User Mode by typing this command:
   "Change user/install" then press Enter.
3. Safely install QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions. Once installed, change to execution mode by typing this command:
   In the Command Prompt, enter "change user/execute" then press Enter.
