If you experience trouble connecting The Dash to your computer (or other devices) via USB this may be a very simple connection problem - if The Dash are not securely seated on The Charger they will not connect over USB.
Many Dash we have seen returned because of this symptom were not defective, the problem was something simple such as:
- To copy files to The Dash it is important that the Right Dash is connected securely so pay special attention to this.
If you are sure that your Dash are correctly seated on the MagSnap then please follow the steps given below:
- Try different USB ports on your computer or USB hub (if possible).
- If possible try connecting to a different computer or USB hub.
- Restart the computer to ensure the ports are active and drivers are loaded
- You may use any type of USB cable that has a micro USB connector compatible with The Charger but use a second cable to rule out that one is defective
- The Dash does not need special USB drivers but maybe updating the drivers on your PC for the USB hub in your PC will help
In some rare cases there may be problems related to potential incompatibilities between The Charger and your computer resulting in your computer not recognising The Dash as a USB device. We are working to understand these cases and provide a remedy.
To enable our customer support to get proper insight and to better understand the problem, any information about the computer, type of USB, driver versions and potential error messages will be helpful.
