Armagh has been working diligently on providing their customers the latest in Canadian payment card processing technology at the point-of-sale. In cooperation with Mercury Payment Systems, Menusoft and ECR Software Corporation, both Digital Dining Restaurant POS Software and Catapult Retail POS Software are now certified and able to offer EMV Pin & Chip card processing capabilities.
As many merchants are already aware, Visa’s liability shift for EMV Pin & Chip card transactions began on March 31st, 2011. Merchants who have not implemented Chip Card technology are now liable for card present fraudulent transactions involving a Chip Card such as counterfeit or card not received fraud. Armagh is happy to provide customers with the technology necessary to process EMV Chip & Pin card transactions.
The pinpad selected by Mercury Payment Systems to provide EMV Pin & Chip credit and debit card transactions is the robust and feature rich Verifone Vx810 pinpad.
New customers will receive the new pinpad as part of the regular boarding process. Existing customers using integrated payments with their POS software will be required to upgrade to the new pinpad. Software versions now certified for EMV Pin & Chip are Digital Dining 7.4.1 and Catapult 5.1.3 or newer.
In addition to the Verifone Vx810 Pin & Chip solution, Mercury, Menusoft, and Armagh are planning on offering the Verifone Vx680 wireless pinpad to merchants using Digital Dining for convenient Pay-At-Table (PAT) transactions in table service restaurants. Armagh expects that Digital Dining customers looking for PAT for their restaurants should be able to upgrade to that solution early in 2012.
