Live EFTPOS Manual
Live eftpos is a specialist/stand-alone eftpos provider, we are not a bank or a broker. Live eftpos is APCA approved and PCI compliant and bank certified by Westpac.
Does Live eftpos provide online payments?
Absolutely – we can set you up with our virtual terminal (alone or in conjunction with the eftpos device it’s up to you). The virtual terminal allows you to process transactions online. Please request this at the time of sign up or contact us down the track if you’d like this enabled for you. Call within bus. hours: 9am-5:30pm Mon-Fri and 10am-4pm Sat. After-hours email support@liveeftpos.com.au with your name, bus. name, terminal ID (if existing customer) and brief message. We’ll contact you next bus. day.
What type of terminal am I provided with?
You’ll get one of the world’s smallest mobile eftpos devices that connects to Telstra 3G. So if you have Telstra coverage in your area you should have no problems with the connectivity of the terminal. You do not need a separate phone line, the terminal is completely mobile and comes to you fully set-up and ready to go (you just need to switch it on!). You will be provided with a charger and also a car charger upon request (fee may apply).
Which cards are accepted through Live eftpos?
The terminal accepts all major cards including Visa, Mastercard and Debit. We can also enable American Express and Diners cards upon request (no additional charges apply).
Can your terminal process MOTO (Manual transactions)?
Yes! Just select the MOTO preference when you apply and we’ll have that set up on your terminal (pending approval). If you decide later that you’d like the MOTO option just contact us. Once enabled: from main screen press “more”, “MOTO” and follow prompts. MOTO transactions pose an increased risk of charge-backs and fraudulent activity for merchants. Here are the most common “red flags” you should watch out for and ways you can minimise your risk. We recommend having the card holder complete an authorisation form prior to processing a MOTO transaction – keeping order/transaction records is always good practice.
What other functionality does the terminal have?
The terminal does all basic functions like swipe, chip and contactless (tap n go/paypass/paywave) payments, and refunds, void, MOTO, and running totals. We also have the ability to customise some functions depending on the needs of your business e.g. if you’re a café, you may want “tipping” included within your terminal functionality.
